VOLTAGE OF HOPE: THE POP-UP PROJECT BRINGS SIXTY ARTISTS TO L.A.’S ARTS DISTRICT
In partnership with The Pop-Up Project
Hope, in most conversations, gets treated as a mood - something that either shows up or doesn't. Voltage of Hope, the latest exhibition from The Pop-Up Project, argues for something sturdier: hope as a decision, made and remade, to keep creating, rebuilding, and imagining what comes next. It's a fitting thesis for a platform whose entire model is built on movement - temporary, international exhibitions that give artists a way into new cities and new conversations, rather than a permanent address.
The Pop-Up Project, Voltage of Hope
From September 19 to 24, Mica Studios in Los Angeles' Arts District will host more than 60 artists from around the world, working across painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and mixed media. The works gather loosely around resilience, transformation, identity, and renewal - less a single argument than a chorus of ways artists are answering the same question right now.
Opening night, Saturday, September 19 (5-8 PM), sets the tone: live jazz, contemporary dance, wine, and a toy drive benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles - art and community support sharing the same room.
The week that follows keeps the exhibition in motion rather than letting it sit still:
The Courage to Begin Again (Sun, Sept 20, 3 PM) - a conversation on reinvention and creative resilience, moderated by Lo Harris with D'Ara Nazaryan, Dwight White II, Marc Chicoine, and Andrei Duman.
Terroir & Voltage (Tue, Sept 22, 5:30–7:30 PM) - a Paso Robles wine tasting with ten producers, staged inside the exhibition itself.
Soul Reflection (Tue, Sept 22, 6 PM) - a live painting session by Leilani.
Los Angeles Beyond the Exhibition (Wed, Sept 23, 2 PM) - a guided Arts District graffiti and mural tour with LA Art Tours.
The exhibition is open to the public September 19–24, with participating works also available through The Pop-Up Project Marketplace and Artsy.
Ambrosia Journal is proud to partner with The Pop-Up Project on Voltage of Hope - and we'll be following up with in-depth conversations with individual artists from the exhibition in the weeks ahead.
