NIGHT LAKE IN UKRAINE, Nataliia Krykun, 2026

€0.00

A minimalist series of three oil paintings that begins with the simple image of a lake at night, where darkness reduces the landscape to its essential elements - horizon, depth, and stillness. Working with restrained blue tones and thin layers of oil paint, the artist creates quiet atmospheric spaces that invite the viewer to slow down and experience time more gently. From a distance the paintings appear nearly monochrome, while up close subtle shifts in sheen, temperature, and texture suggest the quiet movement of water in the dark. The series reflects themes of endurance and renewal within the Ukrainian context, using the lake as a metaphor for continuity, resilience, and hope - suggesting that strength can be calm and that even in darkness the horizon holds the promise of light.

Medium : Acrylic, Oil on Canvas

Dimensions : 35.4x27.6 in | 90×70 cm

Other details : Artwork on supported wooden frame. Artwork framed.
